The Julington Creek Preserve, Cypress Forest is home to many aquatic, avian, and terrestrial animals unique to the beautiful JCP river system which feeds the St. Johns River. There is no better way to experience this unique ecosystem surrounded by majestic trees, reflective waters and the native animals which call it home. Tours are guided by your own personal “Florida Man," who will help you create your next big adventure from one of three locations in the preserve.

Our Services

Rentals: Ready to get your “Floridian” On? We offer 2 hour kayak rental windows from one of 3 great locations around the JCP preserve. Guest are provided with all the equipment needed to get on the water! All Kayaks are monitored with state of the art safety/GPS monitoring to ensure guests can explore the Florida Cypress Grove independently, and safely.

Tours: Would you like to learn more about this beautiful river ecosystem? Private “Florida Man” tours are available with a local cypress forest/kayaking expert. Let our “Florida Man” show you the ropes with a 1 hour guided tour. During which, you will be educated on local wildlife, kayaking basics and the history of this magical place. Simply request a “Florida Man Tour” as an add-on to your rental purchase. Tours are available on a first come first serve basis.

Times and locations are subject to change based on tides and weather conditions…after all it IS Florida!

    • Paddle Notes Website: Durbin Creek

    • Durbin Creek is a shady, long, private, kayak trail along the southwest side of the preserve.

    • This Florida Man has seen massive fish, otters, manatees, osprey, red tailed hawks, ducks, and other cypress forest friends in this area.

    • Durbin Creek Kayak Ramp is located near Race Track Road and East Payton Parkway in St. Johns County, FL.

    • Park Website: Palmetto Leaves South

    • Palmetto Leaves South has 3 different kayak routes scattered at various points that allow every level of kayaker to find new experiences and great times.

    • This Florida Man has seen otters, manatees, snapping turtles, crazy big fish, herons, egrets, and other cypress forest friends.

    • PLS Kayak Ramp is located near Old St. Augustine Road and Bartram Park Blvd. in Jacksonville, FL.

    • Park Website: Tommy Hazouri Sr.

    • Tommy Hazouri Sr./Mandarin Park is located at the mouth of the Julington Creek River and offers handicap access to the kayak ramp, which we loving to use to create very special experiences.

    • This Florida Man has seen manatees, massive fish, herons, osprey, egrets, and other St. Johns River friends.

    • THS is located near San Jose Blvd and Mandarin Rd. in Jacksonville, FL.

This is my home, and sharing the magic of the cypress forest is my passion! I have been living and playing on the river my entire life. Kayaking remains one of the best ways to access the untouched beauty of nature far away from the engines and noise of the city.
